After a few slow league days, we made a decision to award a flat point amount of 8 points to the five players that showed up for two weeks. This was due to there not being an easy and fair way for 5 players to get their league games in. This is based on a 4 player pod, with a minimum of 1 point earned in play plus 1 generosity point from each opponent. We gave the points based on the two league matches, so 4 per match for a total of 8 points. 

Due to this situation, we have changed the pod requirements to be 3-5 players. The issue we have is there are only 3 generosity points available. I talked this over with other League coordinators in Phoenix and San Diego and they all agreed it should stay at 3 points. This is because the points are meant to be given out to favorite opponents, or someone that you felt made a cool play in the game or to thank someone that saved you or your creatures during the game. By increasing the number of points it waters down the point system. Keeping it at 3 points but allowing up to 5 player pods thins out the points a bit allowing for more divergence in the over all points. It makes the choice of who to give them to and how many to award each player more important as there won't be enough to always award them to every opponent. 

So from now on, the league pods can be 3-5 players instead of the original 3-4. We still recommend 4 player pods, but we recognize that sometimes that extra player in a pod is needed to allow everyone to get their league games in. We will stick with the 3 generosity points.
